Web Tidbits - Biz 3.0, Internet Consolidation

From Web 2.0 to Biz 3.0
Patricia Seybold, from the Patricia Seybold Group and author of Outside Innovation has an excellent post discussing Web 2.0 and what is to follow.  She defines her vision of the next generation as Biz 3.0 and has an insightful chart that delineates the factors that are part of this evolution.  Her lead in statement to the chart is a synopsis of her concept and forecast for the future: " Biz 3.0 - as our customers lead us beyond a customer-empowered web strategy to a customer outcome-driven business strategy".   

Internet Consolidation
In a continuing example of the maturation and consolidation taking place in the Internet space, Business 2.0 Next Net blogger Eric Schonfeld reports that Experian has purchased Hitwise in a deal valued at $240 million.  This acquisition follows their earlier acquisitons of CheetahMail, Lowermybills.com and Pricegrabber, the popular shopping comparison site according to PaidContent.org.

Wide Bottoms fits on Long Tail - Retail Customization

Mass Customization & Open Innovation News has an interesting review of a new site for the customization of women's jeans called Zafu.  According to a review of CNN press coverage on the blog, the site asks women 11 questions to help them in getting the correct size of jeans.  Zafu in turn serves as the market intermediary matching the respondents answers with a database of thousands of jeans inventoried at multiple online retailers.  They direct the respondent to the appropriate vendor and receive a fee for each sale.
